a huge coral bead/ pendant

this piece has the main branch coral bottom (as thick as my biggest finger) with white metal wire, wood (under the white metal), textured white metal, copper, and solder. It's hard to tell if this is a repair or the owner modified how the bead could be worn.

  • This was sourced in Morocco (but we know how that goes with the global market nowadays).  I believe it is Moroccan.  The size, color, and patina are amazing.  If you make it to Tucson, I can show it to you in person.  It's a fascinating piece, especially with the wood underneath, perhaps used to add more surface area for the metal cap to be added.
