The other metal beads are forged beads made by the Tamaschek or tuareg in Mali.

more recently they could more likely be from China. I remember this piece well because I wore it home and customs in Singapore wanted to cut it in half. I had trouble understanding until later when someone mentioned drugs! I pleaded with them to find a Jeweller to do it carefully and they finally relented and let me catch my flight.
