What a beautiful "bead", fantastic! Is this from Northern India? I only know beads like that from Nepal (tilbari) in silver or gold.
Its commonly worn as a necklace in the centre with beads however you can get individual beads as well
BTW these are typical from N India very rare these days some are much bigger and heavier with stone works
