If you are at all serious about Indian jewellery you should get Oppi Untracht's book. It is rightly one of the best-known and most often bought books on ANY kind of ethnic jewellery. This is because the author is so good. The book is VERY popular among Indian dealers and collectors because, unfortunately, and as happened in many Oriental countries, the indigenous population did little to record its jewellery heritage - particularly of the not-so-rich people who wore pieces of this kind.
