This beautifully made silver cuff had gilding that is almost completely gone.

The form suggest to me that it is from India. Or perhaps Afghanistan?

Hi,this is most likely Sri Lankan or perhaps South Indian in origin. Type in Sri Lankan in the search option on this site and you will find more ornaments that have the same type of workmanship. It's beautiful in any case and rare!

I've found a reference in Oppi Untracht's book. An almost identical bracelet is illustrated in it from the Collection Ghysels in Brussels. It is identified as coming from Orissa. What delicate work!
