In the wake of the natural disasters that struck two countries within three days, North Africa remains on our minds and in our hearts. People have lost so much all in an instant. It will take some time to rebuild the homes and lives of the ones who survived, and sadly much longer than the mainstream media reportage lasts. At the Virtual Souk we are committed to continued dialogue and support, by whatever means possible, until Morocco and Libya’s communities are safely housed again.
On Sunday Rashantha and Sarah, two great women whom we know and love, will host a Souk event wholly in support of aid efforts in Morocco and Libya.
Sarah will open the event with a fun fundraiser from Marrakech, where she is currently based as an organizer working on community level relief efforts.
Rashantha will generously offer nine of her special necklace designs, the profits of each to be donated to the charities we support and the entire proceeds of one amazing necklace to be donated too.
This will be the first of two fundraisers we hold this month. We hope you can join us once more, to help us keep doing what is needed.
