A digital archive showcasing the extensive collection of jewellery and adornment images shared on the former Ethnic Jewels Ning site over the years. These images have significantly enriched discussions on cultural adornment and its global dispersion.

An ‘uçkur’ (sash / waist band), generally worn by women. From the Bursa region, ca. 1900-1925. Adorned with gold work embroidery (in gold) and ‘tel kırma’ (in silver; motives are obtained by sticking narrow metallic strips through the fabric and folding them). Both techniques are ‘two-sided’ (identical on both sides). (Inv.nr. brdw004 - Kavak Collection - Antwerpen/Belgium).
