Really, really nice, did you buy it in the States at an exhibit or via internet or how? Unsual to find such a wonderful piece, I think.
I found it on eBay listed as Italian. I recognized it as Tunisian, so bought it. The chain shows signs of gilding as well as the old beads so I am wondering if it is an original design. My parents visited Djerba in the 1940's but alas did not buy any jewelry. I always wished they had, so I could inherit a Tunisian necklace like this one. Now I have one!
