Tunisian Head Ornaments

Good silver, rather heavy, the bezels set with coral. Originally these would have hooks to suspend from a head band, and the other end would have one or more chains terminating in small charms.

  • These are wonderful.  Any photos of them being worn?  It reminds me of Kabyle and Moroccan work that is missing the enamel.

  • Hi Hillary:  I do not have photos of being worn at this time, but if I find one I will post.  Mostly I just have photos of others like these confirming that they are Tunisian.  These ornaments are about 4 inches in length.  I quite frequently see them re-purposed as necklace pendants.

  • Good pieces indeed - my reaction is a bit like Hillary's about their "missing the enamel" from the otehr regions. Very good a pleasing silver work, however, and the corals provide colour.
