Traditional headgear from the Şalpazarı district (70 km west of Trabzon). In the fashion of the 1980s. It consists of two ‘oyalı yazma’ (edged head scarves); in this example, the white one is adorned with an edge made of glass pearls, while the black one is edged with a ‘pullu iğne oyası’ (needle lace combined with metal sequins).
