Festive women’s hat from Central-Anatolia. Reportedly from an Armenian workshop. Purchased in Sivas, in 1983. The metal ‘tepelik’ (hat cover) dates from c. 1890-1900; the (imitation) copper Ottoman coins are younger (mid-20th century). (Inv.nr. müç030 - Kavak Costume Collection - Antwerpen/Belgium).
