  @ Lynn and Silverlover: here's a picture of the complete piece. And yes, they usually come in pairs, but to my knowledge they were rather worn as temple jewellery than earrings. I have also seen them sewn on wedding garments. I will try to find a picture.

  Thank you for posting the complete piece - very nice photo- and for the correction. I am not an expert on Dagestan jewlery but couldn't resist aquiring a few pairs. I really enjoy all the technics and materials which were used in the making. Hope you can find a picture and I will make photos if mine and post,regards

  As with pretty much all the Daghestan jewelry, their earrings are really beautiful, delicate and detailed. Above is a photo of my set. As mentioned, they were sometimes also sewn onto garments. With kind regards. Peter

  I love the pair you posted below Peter. I also have one with a bird (only one) which I wear as a pendant.
