  • i had to post this one again, i like it a lot

  • Dear Ait,

This is absolutely gorgeous! When I looked at it first, I thought that it would originate rather from China (which is by no means downgrading the item - they have fabulous jewelry as well). I have never seen such a necklace before - really beautiful - congratulations! Peter

  • Dear Peter

thank you, no, i dont take it bad at all. i know how big and old the china civilisation. i have a huge respect for it since i was a kid :-)

yes, this piece looks not kabyl or northafrica at all. it is true, it is an introduction of french administration and colons in the 30 in the Kabylie

this sample wasmore sold in the big cities for not local buyers and tourists, the local started a bit using later, they were adding some traditional elements to it

as i wrote, it is rare to find now

  • Thanks for posting this...I saw one for sale once in Tunis and assumed it was foreign.  Now I know otherwise!

  • you are right edith, this piece is sometime making unsure about the origine. there is some with the usual kabyl dangles and pendents with enamel and coral. that ones are easy to identfie.

i the last 10 years, i saw only few ones in the net and 2 or 3 athome
