Shumaylat Bracelets, side

Two bracelets silver bracelets with turquoise, one gilt, made by the same silversmith or workshop. These are called shumaylat bracelets and were made by Yemenite Jews in Sanaa and worn by Jewish brides in pairs. With filigree and granulation.

  • Dear Mustafa and Jose, thank you for your comments.  Yes the filigree work is wonderful and these examples are not even the most complicated shumaylats... there are some that are even more intricate and layered with granulation than this!
