Lynn, this is the piece I talked about. The resin(?) looks similar to the substance used in your beautiful cuff.
This is gorgeous Betty! Have you already posted it full size? Does the resin here seem like beautifully cut bakelite? It reminds me a bit of these earrings I have where one of the red stones (lower mid right) is cut plastic. Your beautiful jewel is of course much more elegant and refined.
The material on the cuff may well be bakelite or plastic, but it looks like it was melted in instead of cut and set in. Is this possible with the early plastics?
