Old Turkoman Asyk

AN old Turkoman Asyk, a large protective amulet with enraving and a flat oval Cornelian.The suspension tube is very worn, the Cornelians finely scratched and the patina is relaxed grey, all leading me to think it is probably 19th Century.Possibly Ersari but it may have too much engraving indicating another tribe (?) this is though the only one of this style that I have seen in thirty years.

  • Alas, very old, very special and no longer available.
  • Very nice piece. I love the rawness and pureness of Turkoman pieces without gilding. I agree that the engraving points to another tribe, but I also couldn't tell which one.

    Perhaps one of the other members on this site has the answer?
