Mamouli fertility talisman from Sumba island

The Mamouli fertility talismans from Sumba have fascinated me for decades. They represent the female and also the male, in a particularly symbiotic way. Somewhat surprisingly, they are worn by men, dangling near their ears from their headcloths. Their origin was most likely as earlobe weights.
