Kurdish necklace

I've bought it with other pieces from Kurdistan so the location can be correct. All of the coins are 1 Iranian rial's with lion and the sun, possibly from 1943-1951.I would be grateful for any opinions about this one.

  • It's gorgeous.  I agree it is Kurdish or from a closely related ethnic group such as Lurs or Bakhtiari.  Its a very beautiful piece with fine silverwork.  I particularly like the fancy big links with the lines on them, they are a hallmark of jewelry made in the Levant.  Congratulations on a beautiful and culturally important necklace.

  • Thank you Lynn! Good to know that it can be from somewhere else than Kurdistan. I didn't know that these big links are pointing to Levant, I quite fresh in ethnic jewelry.

I love these little bangles in the shape of leaves, they make a beautiful, delicate sound.

  • I only know that it looks Kurdish from having studied photos of EJs,

its a lovely piece Dagmara, well done! regards, zhanna

  • Wow, a great find and a rare one. Love it!
