Headgear – Bursa province /Turkey

Festive headgear from the Marmara region (west of Bursa). Late-Ottoman era, urban style, 1900-1925. The hat is adorned with late-Ottoman copper coins (circa 110 pieces), gilt filigree work and glass pearls. (Inv.nr. ba$025 - Kavak Costume Collection-Antwerpen/Belgium).
