A digital archive showcasing the extensive collection of jewellery and adornment images shared on the former Ethnic Jewels Ning site over the years. These images have significantly enriched discussions on cultural adornment and its global dispersion.

‘Alınlık’ (= ‘for the forehead’). Jewel to be fastened on the front of a woman’s cap (or on a turban-like headscarf) by means of the three hooks (one in the center, and one on each end). From northwestern Anatolia, rural style, late-Ottoman, ca. early 20th century. Silver alloy and glass paste stones. Can/could also be used as a chest ornament.
