A traditional woman's ‘cepken’ (long-sleeved vest) from the Bilecik province. Part of an ensemble (with matching ‘şalvar’/baggy trousers. Urban style, ca. 1925. The small flower motifs are embroidered in multicoloured shiny cotton (semi-artisan’s work, done with sewing machine). The embroidery in silver metallic thread is handicraft, executed in ‘Maraş işi’-technique; some metal sequins were added to the silver motifs.
