Front & rear (almost identical) of a traditional woman's ‘şalvar’/baggy trousers from the Bilecik province. Part of an ensemble (with matching ‘cepken’/long-sleeved vest). Urban style, ca. 1925. The small flower motifs are embroidered in multicoloured shiny cotton (semi-artisan’s work, done with sewing machine). The silver metallic embroidery is handicraft, executed in ‘Maraş işi’-technique, with some metal sequins added to the motifs. (Inv.n° cep048 - Kavak Costume Collection - Antwerpen/Belgium).
