Wonderfull colors! Is it for women? or also for men?
I believe they were worn by women and men. I do not know how to tell which this is for. I do wear it myself, but it is very long, so perhaps it was made for a man.
from what i have seen of the older ikats the female coats have a very distinct waistline . much shapelier. i probably have a lady ikat will try to add a pic tomorrow.
Thanks Patti and Tribal. Interesting information about these beautiful coats.
Beutiful colors and patterns. see the jewelry on the bottom? two koran tumar..
It is true -- Uzbek ikat and jewellery utilize the same shapes, blend beautifully together.
Oh yes, the design in the textile is the same as the jewelry. I need to find some Uzbek jewelry to wear with this.
Notice on the back the amulets? makes this more valuable ..
Linda-Do you mean the two orange colored designs near the bottom?
