beautiful necklace, and I love the star in the middle!
These and beautiful and quite unusual. It would be nice to learn more about them.
I had never seen one complete and just had to buy it!! It is huge but that is the way I love my jewelry.
Your jewelry collection is quite wonderful and this seems the perfect addition to it.
sensationnal.
it seems very unlikely it comes from egypt, it has a rather saharan feel to it, similar to tuareg tcherots, but the, the etching is anything but tuareg.
could it come from somewhere in eastern sahara, Chad, Sudan or the horn of Africa
i would love to know more
Bellissimo!!!
According to Jocelyne it was purchased long time ago in Egypt but I don't think so myself it is from there. No I don't think they are Tuareg also the back is not signed like they do. Any info would be welcome! Thanks a lot everyone :)))
@you are right, Marie-Ange, the style of the deco is not Tuareg, though very lovely!
I feel strongly there is something inside these boxes, the top is a bit domed.
Perhaps you find out when you shake them near your ear........! I would not open them, wherever they come from, if there is something inside, it is for protection. So just enjoy the idea, that something is inside to protect the bearer (you), be it coranic verses, or herbs or any other sacred thing.
