Berber Mauritanian silver herbal hair ring. These were worn over the head like earrings or woven into the hair as ornaments. Women put nice smelling herbs into the top part as a perfume container. I wear mine as a finger ring, US size is 11 or 20,5 mm. Total height is 5,6 cm (2.2")For sale : 155,00 euro

Yes, a good old and nice piece. Certainly collectible. We have a similar one (of the same sort of age too), but for some reason I cannot find it in Truus's book. Must have failed to include it ... If by any chance you don't sell it (though your probably will), it will not harm you to keep it: you never regret owning good old pieces like these; they "grow" on you"; and their value does not diminish, in "real terms".

Hi Joost, as you know I love to wear my jewelry and have another one like this I wear almost every day, I also like to share with others who share our passion...I am a very bad "collector" do not have items displayed, just have my personal stash and the rest is for sale. But we all have to do as we feel good about.

I would love to have a collection like Linda but would not be able to sell anything anymore.......!! :)

We have always in principle only collected, and are real hoarders. Increasingly - acknowledging that we buy not to wear, and not to trade, but to keep - we have aimed, and acquired better and better pieces. But as we go along we do occasionally sell a number which have become surplus to requirement, for no collection needs to include everything that anyone ever bought. In that sense we are, in a very minor way, and only occasionally, sellers. But there is some similarity with your position, in that you too are a "keeper", but the chief difference is that you wear your pieces rather than collect them. I think this is a VERY good item, and would probably want to keep it if we had two as good - but I imagine I could also get myself to sell it (as would Truus) if the one we sold does not make us feel deprived (whether for wearing or just as part of a collection). This looks a great piece - but I know we have one already anyway.
