Cuffs from Swat, Pakistan (top view)

A pair of wonderfully made cuffs from Swat, Pakistan. These bracelets are covered in repousse designs and carving, and then layered with granulation and appliques. The focal designs with stones on the front and sides are made like a layer cake. First a cut-out sheet is laid down, then granulation, then multiple layers of stamped appliques, and finally the stone settings. I did not have enough appreciation for the amazing skills of northern Pakistan silversmiths until I collected these bracelets. I love wearing them and always receive pleasant comments.
