  • Gorgeous! Ingrid, this is fantastic!  A question: I think that I have seen dangles on such hairpins on the bottom (where the sticks come out). I am really really surprised to see them on the top. Is this their usual place? (Just trying to enlargen my knowledge...........) Also I notice, the bigger one has six sticks!Never seen this before (the smaller one I have seen first in books, then I bought one.. but the big one with six sticks - absolutely new to me!!!!).

  • Splendid

  • This is the way I know it , but anything is possible, because it is u to the jeweller and his customer how they like to decorate their piece.  Remember they are all individually made. just like crosses, guidelines with their own additions.

  • Thank you Chantal, they do look majestic, don't they.  Ethiopian women also walk very straight-up.

  • ok, thank you Ingrid! it is great to see These, love them a lot!

  • Drool! How large are they, Ingrid?

  • Betty, the smaller one measures 11 cm total, but the pendant itself  4.5 cm x 3 cm.

the larger one: total 11 cm  pendant: 6.3 cm x 4 cm.  Both good silver, smaller hairpin guilded.

    Gr. Ingrid

  • Thanks for the info and for sharing more pictures of the wonders from your Ethiopian treasure chest!
