This looks more like Horn of Africa or Egypt/ Nubia to me...
I agree, Hillary. There are SOME Moroccan armbands vaguely like this, but those from Egypt, or even e.g. the Niger area, seem to resemble these more.
I did find them in Morocco and subsequently I agree with both of you that they made me think about subsaharian bracelets but not that quality of silver ....I already had a bigger than those for ankle...but at the end having been often in Morroco, I saw and bought in the past several from the berber there...
Yes I have a pair similar and thjey are infact anklets!!!
Could be for the larger of the 2 but the opening diameter are for both so small in these cases...anyway on my website www.halter-ethnic.com, I took into account all your remarks ' see in "My lucky finds"
Michel
Michel, what you say on your website sounds very good to me.
YOU COULD FIND THESE KIND OF BRACELETS ASWELL AS ANKLETS IN DIFFERENT PARTS OF MAGHREB SAHARA AREAS ( EGYPT, SOUDAN, ALGERIA etc) but these have been found in Marocco....Michel
