  • This is often done to mark which sides of the hinged bracelet go together as the two haves are made separately and then put together with the pin for the hinge. It can be faint, bold incised such as yours or even stamped.
  • Thanks for this Hillary. I couldn't find the information in any of the books I have. It makes perfect sense! When I saw the shape I thought it might be similar to the diamond shapes found in rugs.
