This belt is 95cm long and 7.8cm wide, weighing 550 grams. Silver with gilded parts, dark to blood red carnelians and blue lapis lazuli.

  • This is very attractive Peter. The central medallion on each plate seems to stand out from the surface giving it a very individual character. Did it come from Afghanistan? 

  • Dear Thelma; Many thanks for your comments. I have added below some close-ups and yes, the central medallions are standing out from the surface. While the connections are usually featuring carnelians, the connections of buckle feature lapis lazuli. This belt is coming from an Austrian collection. With kind regards. Peter
