  • Again, how very unusual to see enamelled work from Yemen. Can you tell us more about this piece, please?

  • I had no idea where these were from until recently. I had purchased them in the UK and always thought they were from Northern Pakistan. I thought the finials looked very Mughal in style and the work to me looked like it was from that region.  I was looking through a book on Yemen jewelry and found the same style of bangle but without the enameling. I have always thought that these are 18th c or even earlier so they might have been made this way at an earlier time. These are Jewish worn.
