  • somehow sweet, the rider on the horse. I have a pendant with this motive, but not a ring. The Dogon make also  fine statues with rider and horse.

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

  • Horses are expensive and difficult to care for in the Sahel so usually the carvings and cast pieces are a symbol of authority and wealth particularly among the Dogon, Senufo and other people of the region.
