how to wear a hairpin as earring

This is, how I wear this old Ethiopian hairpin as a single earring. The needle is too thick to fix it with the normal tiny pieces used for earrings, so I cut a small piece of sponge rubber (available in most packings), I use it several times until it gets loose, then take a new one.. I did not bend the needle like this, I bought it like this (would be afraid to bend it myself and break it). On the other ear, I wear a small simple ring.
