  • Fabulous colors!!! Congratulations! Peter

  • Thank you Peter. You're very knowledgeable. To me, this looks like something that was make recently. Would you have any idea what region it may be from? I've found nothing to compare it to. I am going to the jeweler to have the metal tested. I did an acid test myself and it showed at least 14kt, but I want to confirm. The orange look like coral. I dont know what pink stones are, but will find out shortly. Thanks!

  • Great Meg - please let us know. I would allocate this necklace to the South Asian region, maybe India. The cabochon pink stones could be rubies then. Anyhow, it does look very attractive. Peter

  • I took the necklace to a jeweler and it tested as 18kt gold. The pink stones are rubies and the orange stones coral. I think the thread has been dyed with indigo.I've been searching for jewelry of a similar style online but haven't found anything. I think the thread has been dyed with indigo. After hours of searching I thought Id ask the ethnic jewels community. Thanks for any input!

  • A treasure found.  Well done Meg.

  • I am pretty sure it comes from southern india either kerala or tamil nadu, classical style likely picturing flower buds in a stylistic way!

  • Thank you very much!
