Photos from the Internet

there are members who search their photos in the Internet and load them on Ethnic , as if these  were their own.  Like this, everyone could search for hundreds of beautiful Jewellery photos by someone else in the Interrnet and put them on Ethnic - is this what this site is for? I thought the photos were always by the member, or if not, it was mentioned where the photo comes from (sometimes this was done in the course of a discussion, with indication of the photos source, it is ok. But all the rest - to me this is  not honest, sorry).

  • To all members, if you choose to post items from other websites for discussion, this is fine please always credit the original photographer or website wherever possible, mas this is considered to be good manners in a virtual world.
    Many thanks

  • I don't think there are any rules for where photos posted come from and, it is true, that there is a lot of beautiful and rare jewelry online which is postable. Sometimes I, myself, post photos from the net to illustrate different points under the comments category and I don't attribute them to the net. I really think we are all honest here and have the very best intentions and this site is certainly an informal affair, not an academic endeavour which would mandate attributions. I found Rami's posted necklace very beautiful and wonder if anybody on this site has any information as to the finer origin. As I have said before, a discussion about East African jewelry is welcome here since we have very little insight about it.

  • ok Rami, if you like it like this, you do what you want.

But then I am in the wrong place here.
