This piece is available for $50.00. From what I've seen on ebay and other places that seems like a very good price. This would be the third piece I've purchased from her, the other two are in my photos too. Could anyone estimate a region and age for this piece? Also, if anyone wants to know about this seller I could give her information out. She has several more Tuareg pieces that she got from an estate sale.

Re new export pieces -- there are some absolutely superb pieces of new Tuareg jewelry made by master craftsmen available. I usually do not like new pieces, but I do like new Tuareg pieces, they are so classy, have a timeless style and are eminently wearable. I mainly like the older pieces, simply because there is so much tradition behind them, they are so intimately involved with Tuareg life and ceremony-- the delicate necklaces with tiny pendants worn by younger girls, the heavy veil weights, the big leather and metal turban embellishment, the leather gris gris necklaces, they all serve a purpose within the context of the culture, not so wearable by western standards but highly prized in by the Tuareg themselves.

With Tuareg pieces, there is usually a distinction between pieces made for export and pieces that were made for tribal use. The tcherot above was made for export and it is newer. Much of the exported work is splendid, though if you are looking for more traditional pieces, it is not the way to go.
Yes I see a huge difference and you are correct, I am new to this. Everyone on this site has been so very helpful.

Thank you both. The term "humdrum" really helped me decide to leave it. I am very, very new to this type of jewelry and don't yet know what is special. Since I don't "love it" like I did the other two pieces I purchased I will leave it. I really appreciate the advice.
looks nickel, the price of 30 $ will be ok
I don't know the dealer and I haven't seen the piece on ebay. My advice would be to hold onto the fifty and add to it and buy something else, more iconic and less , well, humdrum. But that is my personal opinion, if this intensely appeals to you, then buy it, it is not expensive and adds to quality of life.
